Donald H. Robinson, 58, of Galion passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at home, after an extended battle with a muscular disease.

He was born June 5, 1959 in Bucyrus and was the son of Donald G. Robinson and Kay Delores (Klaiss) Carignan. Donald’s strength was his love for his wife of 37 years, Connie Sue (Baldwin) Robinson, who he married on February 14, 1981.

He graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1977 and attended Marion Technical College where he received his Associates degree in Microbiology in 1995. Donald served his country in the United States Navy as a Corpsman. He worked in the lab at Shelby Hospital and MedCentral Hospital.

Donald was passionate about history, antiques and coins and loved the game of bowling and golf and fishing with his late father.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mom, Kay Carignan of Sun City West, Arizona; daughter Stephanie Pontinen-Elder and son-in-law Mitchell Elder of Galion; granddaughters Lillyss Grace and Elaina Coralene Elder; brother Steve (Sandy) Robinson; sisters Debbie (Bob) McKellar, Bonnie Scott and Patti Huff; sister-in-law Sandra Wright; many nieces and nephews that adored him and his “son” dog and companion Harrison.

He is preceded in death by his father; step-father Don Spohn; sister-in-law Judy Carpenter; brothers-in-law Buddy Baldwin and Jeff Huff; mother-in-law and father-in-law Gene and Betty Baldwin and close friend Jeff McDonald.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Wesley Chapel, 260 Sixth Avenue Galion, Ohio with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating.

Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
