Donald Rinehart, age 91, of Galion passed away Tuesday March 26, 2024 at Avita Galion Hospital.
Born December 30, 1932 in Morrow County, he was the son of Harold and Mary (Brocklesby) Rinehart. He married Lois Phillips on July 23, 1953 and she survives.
Don was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Galion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 243, the VFW Post 4329 and the AMVETS Post 1979 all of Galion. He was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching football, baseball and basketball particularly cheering for the Buckeyes and the Indians. He was an avid golfer and also coached softball and umpired and refereed softball and basketball. His favorite activity was watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in their athletic endeavors, always ready to make a trip to Michigan for that purpose.
In addition to his wife Lois, he is survived by his daughters Leann (Mike) Ventrone and Andrea (Joe) Adams, grandchildren: Alisa (David) Griffin, Bethany Ventrone, Cole (Mallory) Ventrone, Whitney Adams, Phillip Adams, Courtney (TJ) Gill, Derek (Breanna) Adams and Andrew (Abbigale) Adams, great grandchildren: Emily, Hunter, Rowan, Brynlee, Paislee, Amelia, Maverik, Caycee, Aiden, Izabella, Aaron, and Kade, sister Betty Garverick and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Dareld Rinehart.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
