Donald E. Hough, 90, of Galion passed away Monday, February 10, 2020.
He was born June 20, 1929 in Galion and was the son of Lloyd Elbert and Ida L. (Kerhwecker) Hough. Donald married Helen J. (Grimwood) on July 25, 1960 and they enjoyed 55 years until her passing on November 15, 2015.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Donald worked at the former Komatsu Dresser for 26 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 303 of Galion and the American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 of Galion, where he was a past Governor.
Donald was known as a great guy and family man. Everybody came to him to have their cars repaired. Donald enjoyed woodworking, tinkering, fixing things and loved flashlights.
He is survived by son Wayne (Sandra) Hough of Galion; step-son Donald E. Estep of Galion; four grandchildren Erin (Joseph) Kron, Ashly Hough, Nikki Raabe and Adam (Meredith) Estep and eight great-grandchildren Dylan and Alex Kron, Logan and Lincoln Hough, and Brooke, Alex, Oliver and Willis Estep.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by sister Mary Kerhwecker, brother Darrell Hough and a half-sister Edna Roelle.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Grace Point 683 Portland Way North, Galion, Ohio 44833 with Rev. Paul Walter officiating.
Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
