Longtime resident, Dolores M. “Dodi” Garverick (Logsdon), peacefully passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, with her eldest daughter Deb at her side. Dodi was born January 28, 1932, in Newark, Ohio, and graduated from Newark High School in 1949. She and her late husband, Lowell B. Garverick, moved to Galion in 1965.
Dodi is survived by daughter, Debra M. Garverick, daughter, Dawn E. Tilson, son-in-law Stephen F. Tilson, son, Grant B. Garverick, and daughter-in-law, Margaret K. Garverick. Granddaughter Rita, great-grandchildren, Emilio, Romeo, Sirena, Jaden, Damien and Lennon; granddaughter Andrea (Tom), great-grandson Kaiden; grandson Eric (Heather), great-grandson Alex; grandson Ruben Jr. (Angie), great-grandchildren Laurynn, Ivy and Benny; granddaughter Naomi (Josh), great-grandson Elijah; granddaughter Marisa (Preston), great-granddaughters Ximena and Citlali; granddaughter Madeline (Michael); granddaughter Gillian (Jacob); siblings and their spouses Dale (Hope Decd.) Logsdon, Richard Logsdon, and William (Joyce) Logsdon.
Dodi was a devoted homemaker and beloved member of her community. Her life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and neighbors, always prioritizing their well-being and happiness. She found joy in tending to her garden, exploring new places, and extending a helping hand to those in need. Her warm spirit and generous heart left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Dodi’s legacy of love and kindness will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Dodi enjoyed spending time at their condo in Port Charlotte, Florida where she loved exploring flea markets for unexpected treasures and soaking up the beautiful Florida sunshine. Searching for shells, sand dollars and shark teeth at the local beaches always made her happy.
Dodi was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, North End Garden Club, Council on Aging, Women's Auxiliary at Galion Community Hospital, Crawford County Board of Elections volunteer, Mother’s Club, Renschville PTA, Galion Pickle Run, and took part in many other community activities.
Friends may call Saturday morning, August 31, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes in Galion. At the convenience of the family, a private service will be held before Dodi is laid to rest with Lowell in Fairview Cemetery.
Memorial donations in honor of Dodi may be made to Habitat for Humanity and Feeding America.
