Dixie Irwin, 89, of Galion, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Signature Healthcare, Galion, after a long battle of fighting dementia.
Dixie was born in Harlem, KY on April 17, 1928 to the late James and Fannie Duncan. She married Harold Irwin on February 15, 1964 and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2002.
Dixie was owner of the Price Right Upholstery Shop in Galion. She worked at the former North Electric and Stratbury Coat Factory, Galion. She loved sewing and was a good seamstress. Dixie enjoyed her kids and did a lot with her grandchildren. Dixie was of Baptist Faith.
She is survived by her children, Curtis (Red) Williams, Bucyrus, Eva (Jeff) Harden, Salisbury, NC, Ben (Judy) Estep, Galion, Marty (Karen) Estep, Galion, and her brother, James (Ivory) Duncan, Galion. She was blessed by an extended family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her children, Allie Kay Estep, Joan Marie Estep, Jimmy Estep and Floyd Estep, her siblings, Norie, Allie Hall, Jane Marcy, Marie Pruitt, Ida Blair and Charles Duncan.
Friends may call on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
