Dianna Lynn Hearn passed away on April 17, 2021, aged 77.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, who passed away on January 30, 2010.  She leaves behind 2 sons, Bill and David, 3 grandsons. Trevor, Maxwell, and Eli, as well as a great-grandchild, Joey.  She was born, Dianna Lynn Fellure, in Richwood, Ohio in 1944, spent some of her early childhood in Texas before coming back to Galion, Ohio.  Some of her happiest childhood memories were of spending time with her grandmother, Gladys Valentine, in Magnetic Springs, Ohio.

Dianna and Ralph were married in the back of a furniture store in Banner Springs, Tennessee in 1963.  That little town had two ministers; one owned a grocery, the other, a furniture store.  Ralph and Dianna decided that they weren’t hungry but they were tired, so off to the furniture store they went.  The ceremony was simple and resulted in 47 years of marriage.

Her interests were many and varied.  She taught herself how to garden, shoot a compound bow, compose a photograph, and fly fish. A voracious reader and a meticulous accountant, Dianna kept a spreadsheet counting every book she ever read.  Her final count was 2,592.

If you ever paid a bill at the Galion Light and Water office from the ’70s through the early 2000s, you would have met Dianna.  She was extremely proud of the work she performed for the city and relished in the fact that her books were never a penny off.  Such was her life: she kept her affairs in order with every box check marked.  Twice.

She loved and supported her children and grandchildren.  Whenever one of her boys was in a play or marching on the field in the band, Dianna was there cheering as loud as she could.  If one was hurt or in any kind of need, no force on Earth could keep her away.  She once drove to Dayton in the middle of the night to bring food to one of her sons and called the entire state of Hawaii looking for the other when she didn’t have a phone number.  Tenacity is too small a word to describe Dianna Hearn.

Dianna’s last years were spent in the house where she raised her children, attending to her three dogs and her yard.  Her home reflected her life; constantly growing and everything in its place.  She will be missed.
