Diane Shelton had a smile and presence that lit up the room. She loved everybody and especially children. Shirley Diane Shelton, 59, of Galion passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 at her residence after an extended illness.

 

She was born September 26, 1960 in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of Otis Lee and Dixie Lee (Byrd) Shelton.

 

Diane attended New Hope in Mansfield and enjoyed her twisty toys, old country music, puzzles and of course her Hershey chocolate bars, she will be remembered for her kisses.

 

She is survived by her step-father Harold Oyster of Mt. Gilead; sister/caregiver Rita Smith of Galion and sister Rose Shelton of Columbus; brothers Otis Lee (Cyndie) Shelton, Jr. of Wisconsin, Lawrence Edward Shelton of Mansfield, Dave Shelton of Mt. Gilead and Jackson (Loretta) Shelton of Bellville; uncle Hassell (Wendy) Byrd of Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews and special caregivers, nephew/caregiver, Billy Smith and nieces/caregivers, Tabitha Hakes and Tara Smith.

 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, James Shelton and Junior Lester.

 

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating.
