Dennis “Denny” Joseph Shade, 48, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023 at his home after a courageous 3 year battle with kidney cancer.

Denny was born on June 18, 1974 in Galion, Ohio. He worked as a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker at Midwest Industries in Willard, Ohio after 26 years of dedicated services.  His co-workers were his second family who he was proud to work beside, most of them calling him “Chopper”.  Sadly, having to leave the job he loved due to his illness. Denny’s family and friends were his life, and he loved all of them dearly.  His focus every single day was to make his high school sweetheart and wife, Sherri happy, always making her laugh with his amazing sense of humor.  Their love for each other was magnificent and they shared countless memories over the last 32 years.  He was a very giving, helpful person, and was never one to say no to anyone, as he had a heart of gold and he never met a stranger.

Denny was very intelligent and loved to learn; there was nothing that he could not engineer, design, build or make.  In his younger years, he enjoyed riding bikes and doing bicycle tricks with his friends.  As he got older, his love for bikes turned into Harley Davidsons.  He also had a love for hot rods, muscle cars, corvettes, and his lifted four wheel drive trucks, of course all USA made.

Denny leaves behind to cherish many fond memories his wife, Sherri (Hoskins) Shade; his parents, Dennis and Christy (Salvati) Shade; his brother, Joseph Shade; his mother-in-law, Bonnie Hoskins; his grandmother, Joyce Shade; his aunts and uncles, Jeannie Howell, Barb (Bill) Pursley, Terry Shade; and Tim (Monika) Shade.  Although he had many best friends, four were more like brothers to him, Scott Morris, Bryan Clair, Brad Shook, and Jason Barnett; and he had many other cherished friends and family.  He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jackie Hoskins; his grandparents, Donald Shade, Joseph Salvati, and Margaret (Walt) Salvati-Taylor; and his uncle, Steven (Debbie) Shade.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S.
