David Peter Jorgensen, 76 of Crestline, traveled his final mile and passed away on July 7, 2024, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.

David was born on November 28, 1947, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Vernon and Phyllis (Grobe) Jorgensen. David married Marjory VanOver on June 16, 1980, and they spent a wonderful 44 years of marriage together.

After high school, David entered The United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He served our country faithfully from 1965 until 1969. After serving in the military, David became a truck driver until his retirement. He always found joy in the open road and the great outdoors. His interests included swimming, hiking, fly fishing, and attending car shows. He had a passion for gathering with loved ones for cookouts and BBQs and was renowned for his love of chocolate cake with chocolate icing.

Not only did David have a love for collecting hats, but he had a great sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him. His sense of humor is how Marjory fell in love with him. He treasured the moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his children; Bryan (Stella) Jorgensen of Greer, SC, Garrick Jorgensen of Crestline, Samuel (Samantha) Jorgensen of Crestline and April (Richard Clime) Walker of Mansfield; his 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor David’s life.
