Darrel G. Plott, age 86, of Bucyrus, Ohio, and formerly of Upper Sandusky, passed away on April 5, 2021, at the Bucyrus Community Hospital.

Darrel was born on September 11, 1934, in Upper Sandusky, to Forest and Stachia “Peggy” (Blankenship) Plott, both of whom are deceased.  He married Tantris Bledsoe on June 20, 1958, at the John Stewart United Methodist Church by Rev. Hugh Robinson, and she survives.

He is also survived by 2 daughters, Deitra Robison of Oregon, Ohio, and Darceilia Plott of Columbus, Ohio.  3 grandchildren, Aleta Robison, JaLynn Robison, and Marissa (Tim) Barnes, and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Barnes.

Darrel is also survived by a sister-in-law, Karen Plott, and 4 nieces, Debbie Fredritz, Marcie Houston, Lee Barnes, and Alex Plott, along with 3 nephews, Kenneth Taylor Jr., Kevin Taylor, and Sam Plott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters, Ginnella Plott and Kreneila Plott, 2 brothers, James and David Plott, and 2 sisters, Shirley E. Brown and Helen Taylor.

Darrel was a 1953 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and went on to attend Bowling Green State University.  He then went on to work for the next 29 years for North Electric in Upper Sandusky and then in Galion.  After the company moved operations out of state, he continued working for ITT, then with Stromberg-Carlson and then retiring from Mitel in 1996.  He also was a licensed real estate agent and auctioneer.

He was a veteran of the US Army having served from 1957 to 1959.

Darrel attended Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky and of the Warpole Lodge #176 F&AM, also in Upper Sandusky.

He was an avid reader and loved attending Trinity Evangelical and also being with his family.

It was Darrel’s wishes to be cremated and not have any visitations, or memorial service due to his concern with Covid-19.
