Darlean Frances Lewis, 83, of Cardington passed away Wednesday May 2, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Born May 19, 1934 in Martins Ferry, she was the daughter of Howard M. and Grace (Barnhouse) Hendricks. She married Russell C. Lewis, Sr. on March 23, 1957 and he preceded her on March 27, 2003.
She was a graduate of Chesterville High School in 1952 and attended The Ohio State University. Darlean was a member of Galion Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed playing the piano, travelling, dancing and reading. Darlean enjoyed keeping a diary, and she always put her kid’s needs ahead of her own needs.
She is survived by children Russell C., Jr. (Kathy) Lewis of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jo Baker of Galion, Candy (Harley Huffine) McCurdy of Cardington, Rick Lewis of Edison, Rock Lewis of Galion, Jacqueline R. Lewis of Galion, Cary (Beverly) Lewis of Willow Springs, North Carolina, Gracie (Gary) Crawford of Mt. Gilead, and Karolyn (Mark Turner) Lewis of Galion; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister Grace Karbula of Upper Sandusky and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 11 with David Dunn, Elder in the congregation of Galion Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses officiating. Burial will follow at Rivercliff Cemetery in Mt. Gilead.
