Darl E. McNutt age 71 of Forest, died of natural causes at his residence on Sunday, October 11, 2020. He was born January 10, 1949, in Kenton, Ohio to the late Lowell A. and Dorothy E. (Hougendobler) McNutt.
He married Kathleen S. Thiel on August 2, 1970, and she survives in Forest. Mr. McNutt is also survived by daughters, Dawn M. (Darron) Moe and Angela S. Fadley, both of Forest, five granddaughters Brittany (Josh) Hutchinson, Lima; Courtney Moe, Akron; Ashlyn Fadley, Indiana; Shelbey Fadley, Forest; and Taylar Fadley, Forest, one great-grandson, Gavin Hutchinson, one great-granddaughter Loveena Hutchinson, a brother Byron (Brenda) McNutt, Wisconsin, sisters Nadine (Lynn) Boehm, Dunkirk and Rita McNutt, Upper Sandusky.
Darl was a lifelong farmer in Wyandot County. He retired from A.O. Smith after more than 30 years of service. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
A public celebration of life will be held at 12 PM Fri. June 11, 2021, at Gormley Park pavilion, Forest. A private graveside service will be held at Jackson Center Cemetery with Rev. Rex Roth officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by McVitty VFW Post 1182 and American Legion Post 259 both of Forest, and Amvets Post 1994 of Kenton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or the Forest Christian Preschool in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S. Patterson Forest, OH 45843.
