Daniel A. Akers, 61, of Bucyrus passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Avita Bucyrus Hospital.
He was born January 29, 1961 in Bucyrus and was the son of Charles Edward and Helen (Willford) Akers. Daniel is survived by his wife of 41 years, Melissa “Missy” (Guinther) Akers whom he married on August 15, 1981.
He was a 1979 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School and retired after 28 years as a systems analyst at Timken in Bucyrus. Daniel was a member of the Bucyrus United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, antique collectables and muscle cars.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Alex (Olivia) Akers of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Aaron (Peyton) Akers of Ontario and a brother, Michael F. Akers of Galion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert “Bob” Akers and Charles A. “Chuck” Akers.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Bucyrus United Methodist Church, 227 South Walnut St. Bucyrus, Ohio 44820where a funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Bill Sowers officiating. Burial will be in Sandusky Township Cemetery, Sulphur Springs.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bucyrus United Methodist Church or The Salvation Army in care of the funeral home.
