Craig Norman Neff

Craig Norman Neff, a beloved member of the Crestline community and a devoted family man, passed away on July 1, 2024, at his residence in Crestline at the age of 76. Craig was born in Crestline on February 14, 1948, to the late Norman and Mary (Craig) Neff.

He graduated from Crestline High School, Class of 1966. He married Brenda Ann (Anatra) Neff on April 1, 1967, and she preceded him in death on February 20, 2016. Craig was a respected member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Crestline and expressed his faith through his service in different leadership roles in multiple congregations and civic organizations in every community he lived.

Craig enjoyed sailing his own sailboat on the Great Lakes, fishing and summering on the shores of Lake Erie in Marblehead. He was known for his strong sense of community, being a member of Crestline and Marblehead Lion’s Clubs. Craig served as a dedicated teacher of welding at the Coshocton Joint Vocational School until his retirement.

Craig is survived by his daughters, Angela (Wayne) Hilbert of Crestline and Andrea (Donald) Hawthorne, of Coshocton, his grandchildren, Madalyne Hellbusch, Grace Ann Hawthorne, Emily Pearch, and great-grandchild Sage Smith. He is also survived by his sister, Norma (Jim) Glauer of Crestline.

Friends may call on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline. A Lion’s Club service will begin at 4:00 PM with a memorial service to honor Craig’s life and legacy immediately following, with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating.
