Cora Belle Morgan, age 87, Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 10:10pm at Westbrook Assisted Living and Memory Care in Upper Sandusky.
Cora was born on December 29, 1936 in Crawford County to Mary Ruth Holman. She married Robert “Bob” Morgan on December 22, 1956 and he passed away on February 15, 2002.
She is survived by her children Rodney (Keni) Morgan of Bucyrus and Tammy Fleming of Upper Sandusky. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eliza (Matt) Cole of Bucyrus, Amy (Ryan) Schnipke of Kalida, Jerry (Val) Fleming, Jr., of Upper Sandusky, and Shelby (Heath) Davis of Bucyrus, and great grand-grandchildren Seayra (Ethan) Burkhart, Alexxus Fannin, Bella Cole, Owen Schnipke, Connor Schnipke, Claire Schnipke, Julia Schnipke, Korben Charlton and Karson Charlton and one great-great grandchild, Xavier Burkhart, who were the light of her life.
Cora is also survived by her brother, Gene (Mary Ann) Martin of Tiffin, and sister, Chris (Dave) Martin of Sycamore.
Cora was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ruth Martin, husband, Bob, and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Schnipke.
Cora was a 1955 graduate of Lykens High School, and was a member of the Nevada United Methodist Church, and also attended from time to time, the Plankton United Methodist Church.
She was also a member of the Nevada Mother’s Club.
In 1955, Cora began working at Benner’s Market, which in later years became Terry’s Market, in Sycamore, retiring after many years.
For hobbies, she enjoyed playing softball for the Benner’s Softball Team, and also bowling for the Morgan’s Racing Team at the Bowlmor League in Sycamore.
She also enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, baking, especially pies, and for many years she entered her baked goods in the Wyandot County Fair.
Cora loved her family, and found great joy in babysitting and spending time with grandchildren.
Her legacy of love and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Funeral services for Cora Morgan will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.
Visitations will be held 2 hours before service time on Wednesday, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home.
