Connie J. Shade, 68, of Galion passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Galion Hospital.
She was born March 3, 1950 in Parkersburg, West Virginia and was the daughter of Okey and Cathryn (Kesterson) Furr. On May 8, 1971 she married Danny Shade and they enjoyed 38 years of marriage until his passing on November 8, 2009.
Connie worked at the former Crestline Paints and also at Hy-Stat. Known as “Maw Maw” by the grandchildren she adored, she enjoyed flowers, gardening, making crafts, humming birds and spending time with family and friends.
Connie is survived by her sons Chad (Elizabeth) Shade of Bucyrus and Eric (Sheila) Shade of Galion; six grandchildren Brenna, Madalon, Ashlin and Shylee Shade, Taylor and Crystal Leppert; brothers Jerry (Joyce) Furr, Kenneth Furr and Michael Furr all of Galion and her dog Sadie Mae.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister-in-law Femy Furr.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
