Christine “Chris” Louise Grauer, 75, of Galion, passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. She was born on August 30, 1949, to the late Virgil and Lougenia “Pat” (Gerlach) Hollis.
On October 2, 1972, Chris joined hands in marriage with George A. Grauer, and they would share 43 years of loving marriage before George’s passing on April 29, 2016.
Chris led a fulfilling life filled with simple joys and shared moments. She dedicated many years of service at Gala Lanes as the Snack Bar Attendant, where her warm smile and kind demeanor endeared to all who crossed her path. Additionally, she contributed her skills to Cass Woodworking, showcasing her passion for creativity and detail.
Beyond her professional life, Chris found immense joy in sewing, using her talent to create beautiful garments for herself and her family. She was an active community member, partaking in activities she adored such as bowling, fishing, camping, and relishing the serenity of nature, especially by the waters of Lake Erie. Her love for wildlife, particularly eagles and deer, reflected her profound appreciation for the world around her.
A food enthusiast, Chris embraced the simple pleasures of soup and eagerly awaited any food adventure that came her way. She found joy in car rides, with every opportunity to explore the world around her.
Left to cherish Chris’s memories are her daughter: Patti (Kevin) Wiseman of Galion; siblings: Paul Hollis of Crestline, LuAnn Hollis of Galion; and numerous nieces and nephews including Karrie Hollis.
In addition to her parents and husband, Chris was preceded in death by her son: George “Mike” Grauer; and siblings: Keith Hollis and Lynn Anatra.
Friends may call on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. The family will observe a private graveside service at Crawford County Memory Gardens.
