Charlotte K. “Kay” Stevens, 80, of Galion, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at her residence after a long illness.

Kay was born in Blooming Grove on October 6, 1936 to the late Gilbert and Edna (Volk) Palmer.  She married Norman Eugene “Sam” Stevens on December 18, 1955 and he survives her.

Kay was employed by Galion Community Hospital in the Dietary Department as a Dietician Assistant for 21 years, from 1974 to her retirement in 1995. She attended Heritage Baptist Church, Galion where she loved attending church. Kay was a former member of the Galion Nazarene Church where she also taught Sunday School. Kay and her husband had built homes together in Florida and in Galion. Kay had a love for the ocean and its white sandy beaches. She also loved tending to her flower garden. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she decorated her home beautifully for the holiday all year. Kay always had family dinners for Christmas and Thanksgiving as she was a great cook and her pies were a specialty.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter, Angela and Brian Anderson, Galion; her son, Todd Stevens, Panama City Beach, FL; three grandsons, James Drew and Jessica Foster, Lee Samuel and Sharley Foster, Scott Christopher and Melissa Foster; her step- grandson, Jacob Anderson; great-grandchildren, Lilly Foster, Malachi Foster, Remington Foster, Mallory Foster, step-great grandson, Zane Atkinson; her siblings, Connie Ashley, Wisconsin, Pricilla “Gussie” and Bill Thoman, Mt. Vernon, Ralph and Ellen Palmer, Phoenix, AZ, Nancy Palmer, Sun City Center, FL,  Sandy and Chuck Humphrey, Galion, and Terry Palmer, Sun City Center, FL; sisters-in-law, Fairy Casey-Pendelton, Galion and Virginia Smiley, Galion,

She was preceded in death by her son, Samuel Mark Stevens in 2005; and her sister, Mona Estes.

Friends may call Monday, July 31, 2017 from 11:00a.m. until the time of the 1:00p.m. funeral service at Heritage Baptist Church, 1381 State Route 61, Galion with Pastor Rodney Noblit officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
