Charles Evans was a hard-working man and would do anything to help others. He was the type of man who always wanted to fix anything around the house and take care of his wife and family. Charles E. Evans, 82, of Galion passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Avita Ontario Hospital after a recent illness.

Born April 16, 1940 in New Washington, Ohio, he was the son of Murrell and Gertrude (Hanson) Evans He is survived by the love of his life of 62 years, Jean (Cochenour) Evans whom he married on November 25, 1959.

He was a graduate of New Washington High School and attended Kent State University. Charles retired from the Kroger Company after working there many years.  He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and gardening. Charles was a devoted husband and father and will be dearly missed by  all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Gina Schroetter of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Tina Evans-Robinson and husband Tim of Newburgh, Indiana; four grandchildren, Austin Schroetter, Taylor Robinson, Tyler Robinson and Trevor Robinson; a sister Garland Everett of Parma Heights, Ohio; brother, Lewis Evans of New Washington; niece Lisa Boutton and nephew Marlon Everett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Evans.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
