Carol M. Caris, 92, of Galion, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehab Center, Galion, after a short illness.

Carol was born in Bucyrus on December 20, 1925 to the late George W. and Mae (Scott) Purvis.  She married Robert G. Caris on July 27, 1947 and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1995.

Carol was a member of the First United Church of Christ of Galion. Carol worked and retired from the North Electric – ITT Company in Galion after 20 years of service where she worked in the Electrical Drafting Department. Formally she worked at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #303 Galion as a cook and server for 16 years where she was also a member. Carol worked for the Galion City School District for many years in the cafeteria, where she worked as a cook and server. Carol was a Whetstone High School Graduate, Class of 1943.  She was an antique lover and loved to go shopping to see what treasures she could find.  Carol also had a green thumb when it came to her garden and flower beds that she made to look perfection.  She also loved to watch Westerns on the television every chance she had.

She is survived by a son, Marc and Leslie Caris of Kenesaw, GA; grandsons, Adam Caris and Evan Caris.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Wilbur Purvis, Delmar Purvis, James Purvis, Maxine Purvis, Vivian Withers, Mina Pfahler, Annabelle Love, and Darlene Adams.

Friends may call Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion, with Rev. Darrin Harvey officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus.
