
Bruce William Rush, 68 of Galion went home to be with his Lord and Savior June 25, 2018 at Eden Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Green Springs, Ohio after complications from a fall in November 2016.
Born May 18, 1950 in Galion to the late Helen J. (Hill) Rush and Wilfred F. Rush. Bruce was a loving husband to his wife of 42 years Valeri L. (Stevenson) Rush and she survives.
Bruce was a graduate of River Valley High School class of 1968 He attended Ohio State University and graduated from Franklin University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1972.
He began his career in Cost Accounting at North Electric Company (ITT North Electric) in 1972. Over the years His employers included Pettibone Corp in Tiffin; Peco II, Hancor Corp in Findlay and he retired from ADS, Inc. Findlay branch in September 2015.
He formerly served on the Galion YMCA board; and was an Assistant coach for Galion Youth Baseball from 1981-1989. He attended Galion Grace Brethren Church for many years where he served as Treasurer and played on the church volleyball and softball leagues.
He was a kind hearted man who loved a good joke and lent a helping hand to friends and co workers. He won the hearts of many with his smile. He especially loved being a “Papa” and enjoyed spending time with family.
Survived by his sons and daughters-in-laws, Clayton (Ashley Winand)) Rush and Collin (Molly Fyock) Rush and Grandchildren Lexi, Layni, Libbi, Charlie, Sophie, Hudson and Willow Rush.
Friends may call Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at the Galion Grace Brethren Church,1055 Winchester Road, on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:00am with Pastor Jeff Pennington officiating. Interment will follow in the Iberia Cemetery.
