Bradley William “Brad” Summers, 63, of Galion passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at his residence.

God gave Bradley (Brad) to this Earthly life on a cold, winter day on February 8,1960, and called him to his Heavenly life on another cold, winter day in 2024.

Brad had attended Galion city schools from 1969 and left them in 1978, to earn his G.E.D.He is a former student of North Central State College and Ashland University. When his scholastic career had ended, he received two Associate’s degrees and two one year certificates.

Brad’s favorite topic was the American Civil War. So much so, that when he married the former

Jennifer Krichbaum, they honeymooned in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania where she too grew a love of the Civil War. So much so, that for a period of time, they both participated in re-enactments of famous battles.

He is survived by his sister Cathy (Mark) Whitaker of St. Cloud, FL, a half-sister, Jacqueline (Jackie) (Robin) Vaughn of Caledonia, special cousins Chuck (Ericka) Goodwin, and Sheri Goodwin as well as several nephews and nieces.

Brad was preceded in death by his wife, Jennifer, parents, the former Maj. William (Bill) and Lorraine Summers, and his former step-mother Mary Ann (Maglott) who subsequently married Hayward (Mike) Riley, also of Galion.

Many who knew Brad would describe him as a quiet man, who lived a simple life, keeping himself to himself, but with a kind heart and gentle soul.

In keeping with his wishes, no funeral services are being planned. Instead, the next time you are in a quiet place, think of your best memory of him and smile.
