Bobby L. Engler, 66, Crestline, died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, after a short illness.

Bobby was born in Galion, on February 23, 1951 to the late Alvin J. Engler and Ruby (Kelly) Engler who survives him.  He married Cindy L. Sage on October 22, 1982 and she survives him.

Bobby was employed at the former HPM, Mt. Gilead.  Bobby served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 488, Crestline and the VFW Post 2920, Crestline.  Bobby never knew a stranger.  His door was open to anyone.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, drag racing, and listening to music. Bobby enjoyed playing the Lottery and scratch off tickets.  Bobby loved cookouts and spending time with his family.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by his daughter, Carrie and Patrick Archer, Columbus, his sons, Brian and April Engler, Crestline, and Dustin Engler, Crestline, two stepsons Scott McCleese and Troy McCleese, both of Galion, 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, Peggy Howman and Art Shuey, Bucyrus, Jack and Meta Sue Engler, Warsaw, IN, Brenda Bowman, Marion, Patty Mackey, Iberia, Larry and Connie Engler, Crestline, and Gary and Jenny Engler, Crestline, and  numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion, with Rev. Walter Eugene Lawhun officiating.  Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery, Iberia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation in care of the funeral home.
