Betty J. Neale, 86, of Crestline, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Galion Community Hospital, Galion, after a short illness.
Betty was born in Manorville, PA on May 13, 1931 to the late Charles T. and Mary (Wylie) Shakley. She married Forest E. Neale in June, 1952, and he preceded her in death on October 17, 1974.
Betty came to Crestline from Pennsylvania in 1959. She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church in Crestline and a member of Calvary United Church of Christ, Crestline. Betty was employed as a teller for eighteen years at the Society Bank, Crestline, retiring in 1993. She was also employed by Beck’s Bakery, Fletcher’s Market and Hudson’s Dress Shop. She loved her family and enjoyed their reunions. She was a fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians, and the Cleveland Browns.
She is survived by her son, Keith Neale, Crestline, her daughter, Kimberly and Steve Gibson, Crestline, three grandchildren, Lisa Gibson, Crestline, Lindsay (Cory) Mills, Crestline, Lanna Neale (Jason Moyer), New Concord, one great-granddaughter, Lily Mills, Jason’s daughter Emily Moyer, her brother, Albert and Marilyn Shakley, Girard, her sister, Mary Lou and Ed Dentici, Ford City, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Kris Neale in 1958, and her sister, Joyce McGuire, brother-in-law, Richard McGuire.
Friends may call Friday, January 19, 2018 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Calvary United Church of Christ, 511 Heiser Ct., Crestline, with Rev. Gary Proietti officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Cemetery, Worthington, PA.
