Betty Louise Runge passed away peacefully after an extended illness on March 7, 2023 at Millcreek Nursing Center where she had resided since September of 2021.
Betty was born on September 4, 1938 in Climax, Ohio to Edward and Margaret (Garverick) Hedrick. She graduated from Edison High School in 1956.
During her early years, Betty worked at several area nursing homes as well as being employed by the military. She had a fondness for stray animals and was always willing to give a lost animal a home. She loved antique dolls and had an extensive collection. Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking.
Betty’s husband, Ronald Runge, passed away earlier during their marriage. She is also preceded by her longtime life partner of 41 years, Roland Sautter who just recently passed away.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Evelyn Marie Foster.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Ellen DeWitt, Mildred Amick, Rosalene Davis, Dale Hedrick and Roy Hedrick.
Betty has chosen cremation and a graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2023 at Iberia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice in care of the funeral home.
