Betty Jane Ulmer, 98, of Galion passed away, Friday, April 16, 2021, at Mill Creek Nursing Center in Galion.
She was born March 23, 1923, and was the daughter of Roy and Cleo (Sayles) Crawford. She married Ellsworth Ulmer on May 28, 1944, in Fort Dix, NJ and he preceded her on November 16, 1972.
She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1941 and is a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Galion. She worked at the former Northern Ohio Telephone Company where she was a telephone operator. Betty then worked at the former Galion Metallic Vault Company where she was a receptionist.
She is survived by her son-in-law David Spraw of Galion; granddaughter, Erin Spraw, and special granddaughter, Heather Burns both of West Hartford, Conn.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Spraw.
As per Betty’s wishes, a graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, 1295 Fairview Road, Galion, Ohio 44833 at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, with Rev. Richard Genzman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
