Betty J. Shumaker age 92 of Upper Sandusky, died at her residence on June 28, 2023. She was born on Mar. 21, 1931 in Bucyrus to the late Marshall H. and Nola A. (Young) Morris. She is survived by her children Darlene Shumaker, Karen Shumaker, both of Upper Sandusky, Connie (Mike) Brady, Nevada, Richard (Theresa) Shumaker and John Shumaker, both of Upper Sandusky, grandchildren Amy (Steve) Conway, Rachael (Bobby) Harding, April (Nick) Bohland, Crystal (Rodney) Smith, Danielle (Eric) Pagnard and Tanielle (Scott) Gelbaugh, 15 great grandchildren, brothers James (Donna) Morris, Upper Sandusky, Donald Morris, Kenton, sister Colleen Karg, Upper Sandusky. She is preceded in death by a great grandchild, brothers Robert Morris, Richard Morris, sisters Miriam Fagan and Shirley Ann Webster Rowland.
She was a 1949 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church. Mrs. Shumaker was a homemaker and helped her husband on their family farm. She enjoyed playing bingo, completing crossword puzzles, working in her garden and her monthly sibling get-togethers. Mrs. Shumaker was an avid OSU, Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan. She enjoyed 1950’s and 1960”s music, the Christmas holiday, especially Christmas carols, and supporting her grandchildren in their many activities.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Mon. July 3, 2023 at 11:00AM in Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church with Fr. Conrad Sutter OFM Conv and Deacon Kevin Wintersteller officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sun. July 2, 2023 from 1:00PM-4:00PM at Bringman Clark Funeral Home with a Catholic Prayer Service held at 3:30PM.
