Ben Longwell, 89, of Galion passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Mill Creek Nursing Home in Galion.
Born December 24, 1934 in Duffy, Ohio, he was the son of the late Evelyn (Longwell) Jeffrey. He married Janet R. (Kalb) Longwell on February 14, 1965 and they enjoyed 58 years together.
He was a member of Galion Church of Christ. Ben worked at Hopkins Music and then at Lorain Music in the vending department for over 45 years. Ben enjoyed going to garage sales, hunting for antiques, fishing, pitching horse shoes and boxing. He especially loved going to all of his children and grandchildren’s sporting events.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Lisa (Greg) Dyer of Galion; sons, Ronald (Kim) Longwell of Galion and Todd (Laura) Longwell of Galion and grandchildren, Mitchell (Shelby Miller) Dyer, Ashley Dyer, Kane, Kael, Trey, Alison and Max Longwell.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 6 with Pastor Jeff Pennington officiating. Burial will follow at Nazarene Lutheran Cemetery in Chatfield.
