Bee Anderson absolutely loved children and animals. Whether it be saving and adopting animals or providing a safe home for over 100 foster children, Bee selfishly committed herself to them. Beatrice “Bee” Anderson, 96, of Galion passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born April 2, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio and was the daughter of August and Lillian (Riley) Erb. Beatrice married Irving “John” Anderson on March 6, 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1994.
She graduated from New London High School in 1944. Beatrice was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Galion where she was active with the women of the church and Sunday school. Beatrice enjoyed volunteering and did so with the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and the story hour at the Galion Community Center YMCA. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, camping and had been to all 49 contiguous states in the United States.
Beatrice is survived by three daughters, Joyce (Robin) Senz of Akron, Karen Anderson of Galion and Tami (Christian) Gibbons of Morganton, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Christopher (Elizabeth Roberts) Senz, Heather (Josh) Birk, Kaylinne (Dan) Markiewicz, Melinda (Edward) Cervenka, Meghan Gibbons, Christian Johnson-Gibbons, Kimberly Gibbons and Franklin Gibbons and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Anderson; two sisters, Myrtle Schroeder and Doris Erb and a brother, Harold Erb.
A funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 with Rev. Heather McLeod officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral starting at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16. Private burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crawford Council on Aging Meals on Wheels or Christ United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
