Barbara H. Kump, 90, of Galion, died at home Tuesday, August 8, 2017 after failing health.

Born in Galion she was the daughter of Martha Belle (Herrndon) Boyd and Charles F. “C.F.” Boyd. She was a graduate of Galion High School Class of 1944 and attended Cleveland Art College and Denison University. Barb was a relator for 25 years with Fred Barr Realty in Galion, later she held a Florida Realtors license and sold real estate on Sanibel Island. She had previously worked for Dr, Malcolm Switzer and the Galion Health Department. She was a long-time member of Galion Country Club, enjoyed playing golf, having two “Hole in Ones,” was active with the Galion Country Club Women, and served on the Board of Directors.

She is survived by sons, Stephen B. (Linda) Kump of Galion and Robert A. Kump, II of Ft. Myers, Florida; a niece, Melissa (Mike) Burns of Mansfield and nephew, Chuck (Lauren) Vergon of Aurora, Ohio.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Jean Stewart, Adalaide Vergon and Patricia Stephens.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm Friday, August 11, 2017 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. A private memorial service and interment will be held for her family with Rev. Matthew Weaver officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
