Arlene G. Peebles, 86, of Galion, died Monday, August 28, 2017 at her home.
Arlene was born near Defiance, in Paulding County, on December 9, 1930 to the late Russell and Helen “Kittie” (Deatrick) Grosenbacher. In 1954, she married Carl E. Peebles and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1995.
Arlene was a graduate of Sherwood High School in Sherwood, OH and was employed by North Electric as a secretary and phone operator, managing the switch board. Arlene was a lifetime dog lover and helped take care of her neighbor’s dog, Molly. In her retirement, she enjoyed feeding deer and wildlife in her backyard for years.
She is survived by her nephews, Steven and Pat Grosenbacher, Defiance, OH, Kim and Sally Grosenbagher, Defiance, OH, cousins, David and Norma Pollock, Defiance, OH, Greg and Angie Pollock, Defiance, OH, Marty Ann and Bill Faulds, Galion, OH, Jodelle Vossers, Galion, OH, Betsy and Louie Kraft, Jonesborough, TN, Linda Birney, Gray, TN and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her brother and his wife, Paul and Mary Grosenbacher.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Chapel Heights Memory Garden, 2622 Marion Upper Sandusky Road, Marion, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Lowe Volk Park in care of the funeral home.
