Antonio Rondon, M.D. “Doc” age 90, of Galion passed away Monday February 14, 2022 at Mill Creek Nursing Center.

 

Born July 24, 1931 in Arichuna, Venezuela, he was the son of Blas and Carmen (Delgado) Rondon. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia L. (Lauria) Rondon whom he married on May 5, 1962.

 

He was a graduate of the University of Sevilla Medical School in Spain.  Antonio worked 40 years in Galion, OH as an Obstetrician Gynecologist where he delivered over 6,000 babies and was well loved and respected by all that knew him. He also served as the Chief of Medical for 3 times. Throughout his career he delivered many sets of twins and even delivered 5 sets of twins in a single week.

He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints where he took great joy in serving the members of the church both young and old. His daily scripture studies and prayers provided key spiritual insights that were eagerly shared and used to help those in need. He was a valued and loved member of his church family.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children: Tony Rondon of Plain City; Chris (Maryann) Rondon of Watertown, NY; Patsi Jones of Gilbert, AZ and Jon (Christine) Rondon of Menlo Park, CA, nine grandchildren: Lauren (Brent) Robinson; Gabe Rondon, Victoria Rondon; Nicholas Rondon; Rafael Rondon; Isabella Rondon; Austin Jones; Alexis Jones and Harrison Rondon; and one great grandson Max.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nine brothers and sisters. Blas (Eunice) Rondon; Hector (Gloria) Loaiza Rondon; Olinda (Carlos) Oramas; Rosa (Antonio) DelVecchio; Luis (Mirna) Rondon; Frank (Berenice) Rondon; Lola (Francisco) Nicolau; Victor (Ma Del Carmen) Rondon; and Asdrubal (Gladis) Rondon.

 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 19, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 250 South Street, Galion where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Eric Valdez officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Galion.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Missionary Fund at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in care of the funeral.
