Annette M. Nelson, age 90, of Galion passed away Friday, February 2, 2024 at Avita Ontario Hospital.
She was born July 26, 1933 in Amesbury, Massachusetts to the late Joseph A. and Alexina (LeBel) LaForest.
Ann married Richard “Dick” Nelson on April 11, 1953. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion. Ann worked at Sweet Gardens in Galion where she met the man she would spend the next 70+ years with. She briefly worked at Galion All Steel before starting her family. Her favorite job was selling Bee Line Clothing to her friends. She enjoyed shopping, swimming, and biking. Ann also loved to read (especially John Grisham books) and share books with her sister, Chick. A stylish lady, she was also a great cook who made the best homemade noodles. She cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Richard Nelson, children: Steven (Francine) Nelson, Kevin (Ilda) Nelson, Michele (Lonnie) Kahler and Pam (Don) Diosi, grandchildren: Christy (Wesley) Linton, Richard (Annette) Nelson, Cheri (Scott) Wintersteller, Tricia (David) Skeel, Scott (Mallory) Kahler, Kylie Narance and Aaron Narance, great grandchildren: Greta, Van, Alyssa, Alayna, Colton, Peyton, siblings: Gilberta “Chick” Farnwalt, Patrick LaForest and Jean Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings: Maurice, Pauline, Roger and Robert LaForest.
Friends may call Wednesday February 7, 2024 from 11:30 Am – 12:30PM at the Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion with Father Paul Fahrbach, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
