Annabelle M. (Walther) Frank, age 85, went to be with the Lord, September 4, 2021. She was born February 9, 1936, to Arthur and Oleta (Kalb) Walther. On June 29, 1958, she married Lawrence R. Frank, who preceded her in death. She lived all her life in the Bucyrus area, most recently as a resident at Maplecrest Assisted Living and Magnolia Terrace Assisted Living.

After graduating from Sulfur Springs High School in 1954, Annabelle earned a B.S. in Education from Bowling Green State University in 1958 with a Home Economics teaching degree. Annabelle began her teaching career in Lykens, Ohio, and within a timely fashion was hired by the Buckeye Central School District in New Washington, Ohio, where she was employed as a vocational Home Economics teacher until her retirement in 1989. While teaching at Buckeye Central, she served as the advisor to Future Homemakers of America. She also was a 4-H advisor to the Bucyrus Groovin’ 4-H’ers.

Upon retirement, Annabelle and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the USA on bus trips, gardening, and farming. She was often seen on the hay-bailing tractor at two family farms. During the garden harvesting season, Annabelle was often perturbed by her husband when he brought home bushels of vegetables for freezing that very evening. As a strict disciplinarian in the classroom and at home, she expected her children to earn straight A’s on their report cards with the threat of them having to drop an activity even if an A- was earned.

Annabelle is survived by three daughters: Theresa (Larry) Trase of Litchfield, Ohio; Denise (John Bodkin deceased and Christian, surviving) Scheiner of Robbinsville, NJ; and Shelley Duffy of Columbus, Ohio. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Katie (Eric Kronberg) Trase of Arvada, Colorado; Kristina Trase of Akron, Ohio; Nick Bodkin of Alliance, Ohio; Adam Bodkin of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Andrew Johns and Matthew Johns both of Westerville, Ohio; Angela Johns of Oakland, Rhode Island; and Megan Johns of Lowell, Massachusetts; and two step-granddaughters: Karina (Milan) Scheiner-Van Rheenen of Utrecht, Netherlands; and Stefanie (Jan) Brechlin of Wolmersen, Germany. One step-great-grandchild, Rafael of the Netherlands, survives.

Additionally, she is survived by two sisters: Norma Hoover and Arlene Palenshus, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Fredrick Frank.

Visiting hours are At Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, Bucyrus, Ohio, from 12 PM Friday, September 10, 2021, with the service following visitation at 1 PM. Burial will follow at the Sandusky Township Cemetery next to the family farm.
