Amy Jo McGuire, 49, of Mt. Gilead passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus after a three year battle with cancer.

Born March 12, 1968 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Frank Jerger of Bucyrus and Penni (Fields) Jerger of Galion.  She married John McGuire on August 1, 1992 and he survives.

She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1986 and she served in the United States Army Reserve.  She has previously been employed at the Family Dollar Store both in Mt. Gilead and Mansfield.  She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments, listening to country music, watching Hallmark movies and shopping with her mother.  She always thought of others and always had a smile on her face.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is also survived by, her brother, Christopher, (Jamey) Jerger of Houston, Texas, and their children, Mikiyla and Brooke and Alexander, mother-in-law, Linda Ostrom of Mt. Gilead, aunts, Kay (Bob) Schroeder of Mansfield and Judy (Art) Schatz of Wyoming, uncles Robert (Rose) Jerger of Butler and John (Joann) Jerger of Mansfield and sister-in-law, Deb (Brad) Baxter of Tiro and their children Victoria and Zane.

She was preceded in death by and aunt, Ann Deley, grandmother, Margaret Jerger and stepfather, Warren Shaw.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 135 N. Liberty Street, Galion, Ohio 44833 with Father Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
