Alicia Marie Shannon passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She blessed the lives of organ recipients and science research to save the lives of others as her final earthly act.

Alicia was born on February 17, 1974, in Quantico, Virginia, to Darlene (Lester) Dyer and Robert W. Shannon. She spent most of her life in Bucyrus, Ohio, where she graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1992.

Alicia was a lover of all things cooking, baking or catering, but her favorite life achievement was the status of “Mawmaw” to her 11 grandchildren.

Alicia’s family and friends will remember her laugh and her ability to lighten the mood when things were too tense or serious. Her infectious giggle and squealing laughter will be sorely missed by everyone lucky enough to have been touched by her too-short life.

Alicia is survived by her parents, Darlene and James Dyer of Bucyrus; daughters: Andrea (Rob) Perdue of Bucyrus and Lexy (Will) Atkinson of Upper Sandusky; sister, Shara (Riley) Lawson of Galena; 10 grandchildren: Xzaiver, Chaundrea, Manning, Makynli, Ava, Liam, Huxley, Keegan, Beckett and Rhenley; two nieces: Finnley and Mira; and an amazing number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

She is preceeded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Minda Pry and Lamuel Lester; paternal grandparents, Robert and Leora Dyer; and grandson, William Jr.

The Ohio Crematorium and Memorial Society will be handling Alicia’s final wishes. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in her honor.
