Adeline Park-Sipes, 95, of Galion passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 surrounded by loved ones at Magnolia Terrace in Galion. Adeline B (AD) Park-Sipes, born on September 6, 1927, in Streator, Illinois
and was the cherished daughter of Walter S. and Anna (Gotch) Brown.
Adeline’s life was filled with accomplishments and love. She graduated from Streator High
School and Gallagher’s Business College in Kankakee, Illinois. On June 26, 1948, she married Glenn S. Park, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1995. Later, on May 26, 2001, she found happiness again with Maurice E. Sipes, who passed away on August 18, 2015. She brought immense joy and warmth to her roles as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Adeline had a smile that could light up any room and treasured the close friendships she cultivated over the years.
Throughout her life in Galion, where she arrived in 1966, Adeline dedicated herself to volunteer work at Galion Community Hospital and the Mammography Center. She was a dedicated member of Twig #8 and later Twig #4. After a fulfilling career, she retired in 1990 from Galion Hospital, where she had served as an administrative secretary.
In 2003, Adeline was honored with the prestigious Adelaide Vergon award for her exceptional contributions, and in 2016, she was recognized for her 50 years of dedicated service.
In her younger years, she delighted in traveling, bowling, golfing, and sailing. In later years, she found joy in various card games, dominoes, and going on tours. Adeline was a skilled and caring crafter, creating walker bags, pillows, Afghans, and quilts for the hospital. She found comfort in attending White Lily Chapel in Ashley, Ohio, for gospel singing and luncheons and also frequented the Seniors on Center in Mt. Gilead, OH.
Adeline was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, where her faith played a significant role in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter Valerie Park, sons Jeffery and Brian Park; daughter-in-law Karen Park, and brother Fred Brown.
Adeline is survived by a granddaughter Carrie Craycraft; two grandsons, Daniel (Lacey) Alicie And Alexander (Ronda) Alicie; nine great-grandchildren Matheu, Andrew,Mason Craycraft, Lillian, Lexi, Leo, Luca Alicie, Jared and Jett Alicie; her close friend, Jan Alicie, and many other dear friends who mourn her loss.
Adeline’s legacy of love, service, and kindness will be forever cherished by her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.
