Abel Soto, born on October 23, 1932 in San Benito, TX went to his rest on May 23, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his mother Beatrice Anes Soto and his father Don Placido Soto and his siblings: his twin brother Adan Soto, his younger brother Adan Soto who died after going to Boot camp, his sister Victoria Soto Anez and her husband David Anez, his sister Otilia Soto Martinez, and his brother Rudolfo Soto.

Abel is survived by his loving wife Enedina Garcia Soto and his son Edwardo Placido Soto and his youngest sister Rachel (Eliseo) Villarreal and his nieces and nephews.

He loved his family and friends and working on the farm as a field hand driving and maintaining tractors, combines, and cotton pickers. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and gardening, especially roses. He was a quiet gentle man who was very considerate of the needs of others and he was a man of great faith. Every morning he would get up, wash his face, and get dressed and go to the living room to sit and then he would lift his hands above his head and thank God for another day and the provisions and blessings God had given, and then he would ask God to protect and bless his wife and son and our newest member of our family Tom, and then he would name each member of his family and ask God to bless them and heal them and guide them each day. After his morning prayer he would read his Bible. Every evening as he lay in bed he would raise his hands to the Lord and thank Him for another day and again, he would lift each family member, friends and those who asked for prayers before the Lord asking for blessings and healing for each one. He was a man of integrity and he and his family served the Lord many years at Faith Pleases God Church. He helped those he could and he never complained about the loss of his fingers or the pain in his body as he got older. Even when the doctors said that his body was shutting down, he continued to ask God for nine more years because he believed in miracles. He truly was the head and covering of his family and lived his life as a believer in Christ and served the Lord by praying for the sick with his wife, having Bible study in his home and running a nonprofit Christian library before God moved his family to Ohio. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends and those who looked up to him for wisdom and prayer. He truly was a man of God and I, as his wife, look forward to the day we will be reunited in heaven and again serving our Lord together.
