Barbara R. Church, 63, of Galion went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Avita Galion Hospital after an extended illness.
Born December 30, 1958 in Crestline, she was the daughter of Carlos and Hazel (Bowen) Dowell. She married Steve Church on January 20, 1989 and they enjoyed 32 years together.
She was a graduate of Crestline High School and attended Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Mt. Gilead. Barbara enjoyed camping, going to Pigeon Forge and was an avid bingo player. She liked gardening, canning and cooking. Barbara especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter Kayla (Matt Wilcox) Church of Mt. Gilead; two step-sons, Courtney Church of Lucas and Travis (Shawna) Church of Sparta; eight grandsons, Hunter, Brock, Zach, Anthony, Braxton, Tyco, Colton and Izayah; two granddaughters. McKenzie and Chloe; two sisters, Carolyn (Bryce) Wells of Mt. Vernon and Diana (Mike) Stumpf of Ontario; two brothers, Richard Dowell of Crestline and Daniel Dowell of Mt. Vernon and her dog, Bubba.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary, Michael and Gene Dowell.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 4 with Pastor Rob Ratcliff officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline.
