The Colonel Crawford Lions Club recently announced the names of two high school seniors as recipients of the Colonel Crawford Students of the Month award.
Elizabeth Yaussy, daughter of Mike and Donna Yaussy, is the March Student of the Month. She is a member of the National Honor Society Project B.LA.C.K. (Building Leadership and Creating Kindness). Yaussey served as class treasurer in her junior year.
Yaussy is a member of First Baptist Church of Bucyrus where she participates in the church choir. She plans to attend Marion Technical College and will enter the Nursing program.
The Student of the Month for April is Brooklyn Carter, daughter of Veronica Schenz and Richard Carter. She is a member of the National Honor Society, FCCLA and Teen Institute. As a Leo Club member, Carter serves as secretary and was the Junior Leo of the Year. She also served as class secretary in her Junior year.
Carter works at McDonald’s in Galion. Her future plans are to attend OSU Mansfield to major in Early Childhood Education.
Both honorees and family members were guests of the Col. Crawford Lions at the April dinner meeting. Each Student of the Month received a commemorative certificate and a check for fifty dollars.
