GALION — Members of the Wynford High School FFA recently found success at recent soils contests.
On Wednesday, Sept. 18, Wynford FFA chapter traveled to Galion to Kocher Family Farms for the county soils contest.
The urban team won the contest with Jodie Jennings placing first in the county, Thomas Weithman placed second, Kitana Vanderkooi placed third and Caity Schiefer placed fourth.

The rural team got second in the county. Kegan Fry placed second in the county, Graham Alvarez placed fourth and Reese McGuire placed fifth.

Both teams advanced to districts.
On Sept. 26, the rural and urban teams traveled to Lorain County to compete in District Soils.
The urban team placed second, which advanced them to the state competition. Weithman placed fourth and Jodie Jennings placed fifth overall. The rural team placed ninth overall.
On Saturday, Oct. 12, the urban soils team traveled to North Lewisburg to compete at the State Soils competition.

The team consisted of Weithman, Jennings, Thomas Rindfuss and Vanderkooi. They placed fifth overall. Weithman lead the team with a fourth-place individual finish.
The team will travel to Oklahoma on May 4-8 to compete in National Land and Range Judging contest.
