BUCYRUS — At Wynford’s Board of Education meeting Wednesday afternoon, board members were shown the layout of their new school.

Brent Buehrer, of Buehrer Group Architecture and Engineering, the company designing the school, came in and spoke to the board about the plans the firm has drawn up for the new building.

The Buehrer’s presentation featured computer-simulated pictures of what the building is going to look like, from many angles. The building will feature two stories, and many opportunities for natural light. It also will include a new gymnasium that board members said many are looking forward to getting.

One thing board members said they are excited to add, is a small area outside of the office that resembles a café, where students can go and work on their work peacefully, charge their devices, and relax. The area also will serve as a place where students may go and wait for their ride to pick them up after school events so that they do not need to sit outside.

As they will be building throughout the school year, the concern was raised that construction would disrupt the students’ learning, but the board was reassured that the only thing that will disrupt the students will be the change in where they will have to park during the construction process.

As of now, the board was told the building’s plans should be finalized in late January to early February, with the groundbreaking in mid-May of 2019 and the completion in August of 2020.
