A teen couple accused in a three-state, six-day crime spree that authorities say ended because the pair couldn’t swim across the Ohio River have been charged as adults in Pennsylvania.
Sixteen-year-old Triston Kindle, of Upper Sandusky and 15-year-old Rose May, of Sycamore have been charged in Pennsylvania with felony counts of aggravated assault and robbery. May is also charged with felony counts of criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen property and fleeing or trying to elude a police officer.
The two were taken into custody Saturday in West Virginia. Authorities say their crimes involved stolen vehicles, armed robbery and injuring a policeman.
According to earlier reports, the couple’s alleged criminal acts began with stealing a vehicle in Upper Sandusky and then coming to the Bucyrus Wal-Mart where they were seen on video taking shotgun shells. From there they went to Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. There they allegedly held up a convenience store and a police officer was injured trying to stop them when he was dragged while hanging onto the vehicle they were in.
They are also believed to have stolen two more vehicles in Pennsylvania before going to West Virginia.
The teens are charged as juveniles in West Virginia and will also likely face charges in Ohio.
Attempts to reach their families Wednesday were unsuccessful. The teens remain in custody.
