BUCYRUS — Lorena Robinson, 41, of Bucyrus was sentenced in Crawford County Common Pleas Court Wednesday to four years in prison. Robinson pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, a second-degree felony punishable with up to eight years in prison.
Robinson appeared with her court-appointed attorney, Tani Eyer. Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold accepted the plea agreement worked out between Eyer and the state.
Leuthold sentenced Robinson to four years in prison but was given 109 days of jail time credit on her sentence.
In other court action, Theodore Lewis, 34, of Galion pleaded guilty to violating the terms and conditions of his community control. Lewis was placed on community control for felony child non-support, a fourth-degree felony punishable with up to 12 months in prison.
According to the state, Lewis violated the terms and conditions of his community control after a random drug screen on January 3. Lewis tested positive for cocaine and admitted to using cocaine.
Lewis was accompanied by his court-appointed attorney, Joel Spitzer who told the court that Lewis had been working and paying his child support at the time of his violation.
“I appreciate that he was working. I rarely send a non-support felon to prison because I want them working and paying their support.” Leuthold said. “However, when you’re out here doing drugs it’s only a matter of time till everything goes south.”
Leuthold sentenced Lewis to the maximum of 12 months in prison.
Tia Crowden, 47, of Bucyrus was sentenced to 24 months in prison after violating the terms and conditions of her community control. Crowden was originally sentenced to the 24 months in prison in June 2017 on two counts of possession of drugs. She was granted judicial release in June 2018.
In the final hearing held Wednesday, Crowden admitted to using cocaine after testing positive following a drug test.
“Nobody wanted me to give you a second chance, not the state or my probation officers,” Leuthold said. “But I did it against everyone’s advice and here we are.”
Crowden will receive credit for jail time served.
