BUCYRUS — Destiny Skidmore of Bucyrus will spend the next 54 months in prison. Skidmore pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking in drugs each punishable with up to 36 months in prison, and two counts of trafficking in drugs each fourth-degree felonies and each punishable with up to 18 months in prison.

Before sentencing, Skidmore, 21, had a couple of questions for Judge Sean Leuthold. She asked the judge if he would consider lifting the no contact order with her daughter so that she could visit her while in prison.

“You should’ve worried about your daughter when you put her in harm’s way by selling drugs in her presence,” Leuthold said. “It’s way too soon to consider that request.”

Skidmore further drew the Judge’s ire when she asked to have contact with her boyfriend, a convicted felon currently incarcerated.

“You’d better get your head straight,” Leuthold said. “Stay away from felons. Concentrate on staying away from drugs and away from the people who got you into this mess!”

In other court action, Aaron Keister, 38, of Bucyrus had his prison sentence re-imposed after he pleaded guilty to violating the terms and conditions of his community control. Keister admitted to using heroin and associating with a convicted felon.

Keister was granted judicial release in May 2017 after pleading guilty to several felony charges. Keister was sentenced to a total of 59 months in prison for charges including burglary, a second-degree felony punishable by up to eight years in prison.

Mathew Keenan, 18, of Galion was sentenced to five years of community control after he pleaded guilty to one count of burglary punishable with up to 18 months in prison.

Leuthold said this was not a typical burglary.

“This is not a case where anything was stolen but rather you got bombed out of your mind and wandered into the wrong house and passed out,” Leuthold said.

Leuthold ordered Keenan to undergo alcohol and drug abuse assessment and follow whatever treatment plan recommended.

Michael Shick, 32, of Crestline appeared in court for a pretrial. Shick is facing one count of felony domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony punishable with up to 18 months in prison. However, when Leuthold decided to drug test Shick, which is a condition of his bond, he tested positive for amphetamines, barbiturates and meth.

Shick told the court he had taken over -the-counter cough medicine. Leuthold did not buy that explanation and ordered Shick to be taken into custody.
