A Bucyrus woman was granted her motion for intervention Monday morning in Crawford County Common Pleas Court. The chance to avoid a felony conviction came with a cautionary warning from Judge Sean Leuthold.

Forty-seven-year-old Penny Lloyd pleaded guilty to two counts of fifth-degree felony drug possession. That plea will be held to give Lloyd a chance to successfully complete a treatment program for addiction.

“This is not a get out of jail free card,” Leuthold told Lloyd along with a dire warning she could go to prison for as long as two years if she fails to successfully complete the program.

Leuthold told Lloyd he rarely allows people to go on intervention, but that he took note of her lack of a criminal record and the fact the drugs in question were prescription forms of Ritalin and not any form of opiate, heroin or cocaine.
