TIFFIN, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Authorities received a 911 call from a woman reporting that her boyfriend had accidentally shot himself.

The caller indicated that both individuals had been consuming alcohol prior to the incident. In response, deputies and Clinton Township Rescue Fire/EMS personnel quickly arrived at a residence located in the 5000 block of East US 224 in Clinton Township.

Upon arrival, deputies found 40-year-old Gary L. Johnson with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. He was promptly transported to Tiffin Mercy Hospital for medical treatment.

During the investigation at the scene, deputies spoke with a female present during the incident, revealing that an altercation had taken place involving a firearm. The involvement of alcohol in the incident was also confirmed.

As a result, 41-year-old Laurie A. Stacy of Tiffin was arrested for using a weapon while intoxicated. She was subsequently taken to the Seneca County Jail, where she is currently being held.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office have been called in to assist with the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.
