BUCYRUS — A Galion woman appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Thursday to plead guilty to two charges of receiving stolen property.
Falynn Phillips, 37, pleaded guilty to one count of receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony punishable with up to 18 months in prison and an additional count of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony punishable with up to 12 months in prison.
In a plea agreement, Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced Phillips to 12 months in prison on the fourth-degree felony and eight months in prison for the fifth-degree felony for a total of 20 months in prison. As part of the negotiation, an additional fifth-degree possession of drugs charge was dismissed.
Phillips will receive 73 days of jail time credit. Leuthold told Phillips he would not oppose transitional control if the prison requested it.
In other court action, Michael Conklin, 35, of Crestline admitted to violating the terms and conditions of his community control. According to probation officer Chris Heydinger, Conklin failed to appear for scheduled office visits, admitted to using heroin in October and submitted to a urinalysis which resulted in a positive test for fentanyl. Conklin admitted to the drug use.
Conklin was placed on community control in July after he pleaded guilty to two counts of possession drugs, each a fifth-degree felony and each punishable with up to 12 months in prison.
Leuthold sentenced Conklin to eight months on each count for a total of 16 months in prison. Conklin will receive credit for jail time served. Leuthold said he would not oppose transitional control if the prison requested it.
