Strong winds blowing across Ohio knocked down utility lines, trees and disrupted power for thousands across the state.
In Crawford County the Sheriff’s Office said there were reports of limbs down and low-hanging power lines “all over the county.” A dispatcher on duty this morning (Tuesday) indicated that the Sheriff’s Office was not aware of any power outages at this time.
AEP Ohio reported that power was at least temporarily disrupted for 48,000 of its customers across the state. By 9 o’clock Monday evening, power had been restored to all but about 15,000, none of whom were in Crawford County.
Several cities around Ohio reported wind gusts that were above 50 mph on Monday. The National Weather Service issued wind advisories for most areas of Ohio that were to stay in effect through late Monday night.
