With the New Year here the meeting was organizational in nature. New member Margaret Hoyles took the oath of office and council duties for the year were assigned.
The board president for 2014 is Mike Willacker, and the vice-president is Tim Ley. In committee assignments: Willacker and Norm Huber on Finance; Shane Stuckman on Legislative; Ley and Willacker on Negotiations and Personnel; Stuckman and Huber on School Facilities and Building & Grounds; and Hoyles and Ley on Board Policy Review.
Some light business was conducted with Treasurer Vickey Stump authorized to make payments of all contractual obligations, payroll, etc., and to modify appropriations. Superintendent Todd Martin was authorized as the purchasing agent, as well as given the authority to participate in federal and state programs, as well as make emergency hires, both of which would be subject to board approval after the fact.
